Scapa lodges can be found near the shores of Scapa flow, less than a mile from the town of Kirkwall.
Scapa beach is only a matter of yards from the front door, Scapa pier a short walk. Centrally located on the Orkney mainland the property is ideally located for both the East and West Mainland.
Arriving by car (Scrabster ~ Stromness)
Travel out from Stromness and follow the signs for Kirkwall (A965), the road is 15 miles. Once in Kirkwall, at the third roundabout, take the right hand exit, and follow this road (Junction Road) for approximately 3/4 mile, (400 yards past the hospital). Take the road to the right signposted Scapa.
Once at the beach, follow the road round to the right. The turn off for Scapa Lodges is about halfway along the beachfront, and signposted on a large boulder. The Lodges are situated behind the road-front houses, set in their own grounds and surrounded by ‘ranch' style wooden fences. The first Lodge has two bedrooms, the second has three.
Arriving by car (Gills Bay ~ St. Margaret's Hope)
Follow the signs for Kirkwall (15 miles). As you enter Kirkwall after you pass the Highland Park distillery, the road naturally takes a left turn down the Holm Branch, once at the bottom of this hill, follow the signpost for Scapa (left turn).
Once at the beach, follow the road round to the right. The turn off for Scapa Lodges is about halfway along the beachfront, and signposted on a large boulder. The Lodges are situated behind the road-front houses, set in their own grounds and surrounded by ‘ranch' style wooden fences. The first Lodge has two bedrooms, the second has three.
Arriving by plane
Follow the signs for Kirkwall (4 miles). Once 1/2 mile inside the town limits, follow the signs for Holm (left turn). At the first junction encountered take a right turn down the Holm Branch road (before you pass the Highland Park distillery), and at the bottom of this hill, follow the signpost for Scapa (left turn).

Travel out from ferry terminal and follow the signs for Kirkwall, at the first roundabout take a left. Travel over the next roundabout and at the third take the right hand exit, and follow this road (Junction Road) for approximately 3/4 mile, (400 yards past the hospital).
